Brooke and Caleb's wedding on May 30, 2026, was the perfect reminder that you don't have to travel far to find a beautiful wedding venue in Michigan.
Their wedding took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Bay City, a venue that combines waterfront views, convenient accommodations, and plenty of space for both ceremonies and receptions. With temperatures in the upper 80s, partly cloudy skies, and a refreshing breeze coming off the Saginaw River, it couldn't have been a more beautiful day to celebrate.
Getting Ready at the DoubleTree by Hilton
One of the biggest advantages of hosting a wedding at the DoubleTree is having everything in one location.
The bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready in a spacious bridal suite filled with excitement, laughter, and all the final wedding day preparations. Meanwhile, the groomsmen and early-arriving guests were able to relax in the hotel's lobby and bar area while waiting for the festivities to begin.
Having everyone on-site helped the day flow smoothly and kept stress levels low throughout the morning.
An Outdoor Ceremony Near the Riverfront
The ceremony took place outdoors on the hotel property with the Saginaw River nearby.
The warm weather and gentle river breeze created the perfect atmosphere for exchanging vows. While Michigan weather can sometimes be unpredictable, the conditions could not have been better for an outdoor wedding ceremony.
Family and friends gathered to watch Brooke and Caleb officially begin the next chapter of their lives together.
Wedding Portraits Along the Saginaw River
One of my favorite parts of the day was walking down to the riverfront for portraits after the ceremony.
The Saginaw River provides a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos and adds a unique Bay City feel to the gallery. We were able to photograph family portraits, wedding party photos, and bride and groom portraits all within walking distance of the venue. Brooke & Caleb even opted for some more couples photos at golden hour.
The combination of the waterfront scenery, soft cloud cover, and evening light created beautiful conditions for portraits.
A Reception Full of Fun Details
After portraits, everyone headed inside to celebrate.
The reception was filled with great food, laughter, and plenty of dancing. One of the most memorable moments of the evening was Brooke and Caleb's first dance, which featured a dramatic dry ice effect that made it feel like they were dancing on a cloud.
Another standout detail was their red velvet wedding cake, which looked just as good as it tasted.
From heartfelt speeches to a packed dance floor, the reception was the perfect ending to an incredible day.
Why the DoubleTree by Hilton is a Great Bay City Wedding Venue
After photographing Brooke and Caleb's wedding, it's easy to see why couples choose the DoubleTree by Hilton for their wedding day.
A few things that make this venue stand out include:
Convenient hotel accommodations for guests
Indoor and outdoor event spaces
Beautiful riverfront views
Easy access to portrait locations
On-site bar and gathering spaces
A smooth flow between every part of the wedding day
For couples planning a Bay City wedding, it's a venue that offers both convenience and beautiful scenery.
