You've worked hard for your degree, so your graduation photos should feel personal and reflect your journey.

One of the easiest ways to make your graduation session unique is by bringing props that tell your story. Whether you're celebrating acceptance into graduate school, starting your dream job, or simply showing off your school pride, the right props can add personality and variety to your photos.

Not every graduate needs props, but they can be a fun way to highlight what makes your experience different from everyone else's.

Here are some of my favorite graduation photo props to bring to your session.

Your Cap, Gown, Cords, Stoles, and Pins

Let's start with the essentials.

Your cap and gown are the most important things to bring to your graduation session, but don't forget your graduation cords, honor stoles, medals, and pins. You worked hard to earn them, and they deserve to be featured in your photos.

Whether they represent academic honors, leadership organizations, athletics, military service, Greek life, or another accomplishment, these items help tell the story of your college journey.

Even if you plan to wear a different outfit for most of your session, I always recommend bringing everything you earned. We can photograph each piece individually or together to celebrate all of your accomplishments.

Cap and gown photos never go out of style, and adding your cords, stoles, medals, and pins makes them even more meaningful.

Champagne

Nothing says "I finally graduated!" quite like a champagne pop.

Champagne photos are energetic, exciting, and always create genuine reactions. They're especially popular for college graduates who want a fun way to celebrate earning their degree.

A few tips:
